Eight trapped in collapsed tunnel in southwest China
GUIYANG, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Eight workers were trapped in a collapsed tunnel early Friday morning along the Guiyang-Kunming railway line near Liupanshui City in southwest China's Guizhou Province, a local official said Friday.

"Rescuers heard someone knocking inside the tunnel at around 3:50 p.m.," Long said.

The 639-kilometer railway links Guiyang, capital of Guizhou, with Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province. It was built in the 1960s and was put into operation in Dec. 1970.
